Surface Pro 3Microsoft has quietly rolled out a new build option for the Surface Pro 3. The new machine comes with the top-of-the-line Intel Core i7 processor, but just 128GB storage, bringing the price of the powerful machine down for users who don’t need as much storage.

The new model is $1,299, the same price as surface with an Intel Core i5 and 256 GB storage. So now users can decide if they want to trade power for storage. It may even be cheaper to add storage later through external storage.

The Surface Pro 3 was introduced over a year ago, so Microsoft may be adding a cheaper option to fill out the lineup before the introduction of the Surface Pro 4.

The company also announced today the rollout of the LTE-enabled Surface 3. It was first introduced in Japan two weeks ago and will be coming to the U.K. and Germany on July 3, followed by the U.S., France and Spain later this summer.
