The official trailer for The Martian was released today by 20th Century Fox and does it look like a treat.
Based on the incredible bestseller by Andy Weir and directed by Ridley Scott, this updated version shows audiences a bit more of what we can expect when things go horribly awry on a mission to Mars — and when Matt Damon, starring as lost astronaut Mark Watney, has to “science the shit” out of things to survive.
This might be one of the greatest man-against-the-elements stories of all time. Just watching Damon struggle to get water and grow food is already a treat.
The cast is star-studded with Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Kate Mara, Michael Peña, Jeff Daniels, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Donald Glover, too.
It looks like the release date just got bumped up, too. The Martian is in theaters Oct. 2.
