Did you know that Monday is “Embrace Your Inner Geek Day?”

To celebrate, Hotwire.com has released a Harris survey about one of the best geeks around — the travel geek. And what did they find? Millennial men are some of the most passionate travel geeks out there.

About 27 percent of men and 19 percent of women between the ages of 18-34 self-identify as “travel geeks.”

Students also identified more with the geekier aspect of travel at 24 percent.

The survey found that U.S. travel geeks share a few habits, including searching regularly for deals, booking last-minute travel to take advantage of said deals and maximizing loyalty programs. They also tend to be more adventurous and want to visit new places they haven’t been before.

It also helps that younger folks tend to be pretty savvy when it comes to booking travel online and using apps to score deals faster.

Harris surveyed more than 2,000 adults in June to find the geeky results. Take this as a handy reminder to get something booked before summer is gone and get your travel geek on.
