If you could go back and tell your younger self anything what would it be?

That’s the idea of YouTube’s #DearMe campaign, launched yesterday in honor of International Women’s Day, which is March 8. The video site is encouraging women to upload a video letter to their younger selves with the #DearMe tag. The purpose? To encourage teen girls around the world to not worry so much about the common stuff they do — body image, popularity, dating, etc. — and to feel good about themselves.

#DearMe is in the vein of Dan Savage’s It Gets Better campaign for LGBT youth, sending words of encouragement that bullying, bad times and bad people will soon become a thing of the past if you just hang in there.

YouTube stars like Grace Helbig, Michelle Phan and Felicia Day are sharing stories and starting the conversation. Users are encouraged to make their own videos and post them to YouTube and Twitter, where #DearMe is trending.
