On Sept. 19 and 20, EMP Museum and Penny University are hosting the Seattle Mini Maker Faire — “a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker Movement.”
More than 6,000 people are expected to attend, ranging from tech professionals to scientists to at-home DIY enthusiasts. A full list of exhibitors is available here and tickets are on sale for $8 – $25 here. Children under four can attend the event for free.

AT&T Mobile App Hackathon
What: “Mobile App Hackathon is an event produced by the AT&T Developer Program that is designed for attendees (technical & non-technical) to build apps/mobile apps, get fed, compete for prizes across different categories and most importantly: meet new people and scout for teammates to work on new or current projects. Communication and Leadership: Women in Tech
What: “ChickTech Seattle is excited to bring you an evening of networking and engaging discussion hosted by EMC. Aubra Taylor, leadership and communications consultant, and Sheryl Loeffler, VP of HR, Emerging Technologies at EMC will share their experiences working with female leaders in the technology space. We will discuss the unique strengths women bring to the table as well as some of the challenges we face. Aubra will dive into to leadership communication, including identifying the differences between assertiveness, leadership, and domination language; learning how to identify areas of expertise in self and supervisees; and reducing fear of failure.
