Cregg will be joined by a host of other celebrity guests including Anthony Daniels (C-3PO, Star Wars), Finn Jones (Sir Loras Tyrell, Game of Thrones), Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia Chase, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Hayley Atwel (Agent Carter, Captain America), Gina Torres (Zoë Washburne, Firefly), and more.

This year’s ECCC will feature a variety of panels for Sci-Fi and Fantasy fans, a beer garden in partnership with Ninkasi Brewing, a “Cospitality Lounge,” a food truck alley — and in the spirit of inclusivity all-gender restrooms.

If you’ve always wanted to be a part of a hackathon but didn’t think your coding skills were up to snuff, check out ProtoHack. Participants will use drag and drop editors, mockups, wireframes, and other visual tools to help demo ideas.

“ProtoHack exists to show non-coders that they can create something amazing from nothing,” write event organizers. “We empower and enable the non-technical community with the tools, knowledge and connections that will help bring their idea to life and visually communicate it through prototyping.” Tickets are available for $10 here.

PATH, a health innovation non-profit, is hosting a panel of entrepreneurs, investors, and industry experts to talk about the future of health and technology. The event is part of a broader Innovation Countdown 2030 initiative, which has already sourced over 500 ideas from 33 countries, according to PATH.

Speakers on the Seattle panel include PATH CEO and President Steve Davis, Tableau VP of Product Marketing Ellie Fields, Wells Fargo’s Tech and Venture Banking Relationship Manager John Flemming, and more. The panel will be moderated by GeekWire Chairman Jonathan Sposato. RSVP here.

Hack_the_CommuteHack the Commute

Let’s face it: Seattle’s traffic problem is getting out of control. The city is growing faster than any other metropolis in the country and our transportation system can’t keep up. To address these concerns the City of Seattle is inviting developers, designers, data analysts, and technology experts to Hack the Commute. Participants will work in teams to come up with creative solutions to the city’s transportation woes. Hack the Commute is sold out but it is accepting wait list registrations here.

Seattle is a hub for innovative retail —from e-commerce giant Amazon to rapidly ascending startup Zulily. Seattle Business Magazine hopes to leverage Seattle’s status as an “epicenter for retail and technology,” in the first Retail Nexus forum. Execs from Zulily, Julep, Sur La Table, and more will speak on three panel discussions. Retail Nexus will cover creative marketing, innovation in retail tech, and the customer experience.
