Jeff Sandquist, who recently left his job as Twitter’s head of developer relations, is returning to Microsoft, where he will be a general manager in the company’s Cloud & Enterprise Group, he announced earlier today.
Sandquist said he will be working for S. “Soma” Somasegar, the vice president in charge of Microsoft’s Developer Division. Sandquist was a longtime developer evangelist at Microsoft before leaving to join Twitter a year-and-a-half ago.
His tenure at Twitter included the build-out of the developer relations team and the launch of new products including the Fabric mobile developer tools. At the time of his departure, he described the move as a family decision to return to an area where they have roots. The Twitter developer relations team needs a local leader in San Francisco, he said.
Sandquist didn’t offer more details on his new role, but hinted at more information to come at Microsoft’s upcoming Build developer conference.
