Planning a getaway is usually never easy, but with the right info you can get a jump-start on planning your escape this year. Expedia’s travel trends report is online now to help you secure the best days to purchase flights and more.

The Bellevue-based travel company reveals that a few interesting trends are emerging, including these “four key takeaways”:

1. If possible, buy tickets for domestic travel at least two months in advance for the best deal. For international travel, it’s six months.

2. Tuesday is still the best day to find low fares, if you’re looking at least three weeks in advance.

3. You might have noticed that most airlines are offering economy and “economy-plus” type seating. The price difference can be nominal, so it might be worthwhile kicking in a few more bucks to have those extra inches of legroom. Expedia also reports that even the gap between “premium and economy-cabin tickets is shrinking,” too.

4. An increase in demand is being met by the airlines with an “increased capacity.” The company also predicts that flight costs in North America and Europe will be “slightly lower” this year due to falling oil prices.

Now get going. Those vacation hours aren’t going to take care of themselves. Just don’t be one of those annoying people on the plane.
