We already know the world of Minecraft can be a fun, creative — albeit at times — terrifying place. Now the popular Microsoft-owned game is the focus of an international tournament.

The Builder Bowl is an global builder tournament in which teams “compete against one another to build immersive experiences, content, apps and applications.” The first competition in this tournament series is focused on Minecraft.

Overseen by the Immersive Education Initiative, the builder tournament is open to all Immersive clubs, camps and classes. The builds usually revolve around themes like virtual reality, augmented reality, simulations, video games, caves and domes, 3D printing and robotics.

Anyone can compete from school or home to enter the tournament starting in June. Finalists will have the opportunity to travel to Paris for the final build-off in September.

Sounds like a fun summer project for Minecraft fans. Get building!
