Another tech company is opening a Seattle office.

This time it’s Teespring, the San Francisco-based custom apparel maker platform that lets people buy and sell their own t-shirts, tank tops, hoodies and more.

Teespring, which has raised $56 million to date from investors like Andreessen Horowitz, Khosla Ventures, and Y Combinator, has yet to open an office but told GeekWire that it plans to establish an outpost soon.

Spearheading that effort is Brian Marcus, a former eBay director and Google manager who just joined Teespring as its new VP of Seller Growth and will head up the new Seattle office. Marcus was most recently VP of Marketing at Evocalize, a Seattle-based marketing startup.

Teespring, which employs more than 300 at four offices around the globe, said that the Seattle location will primarily focus on building a seller services organization. It’s an “extension” of the company’s team in San Francisco.

“Seattle is home to one of the most vibrant talent pools in the country, aligned with many of Teespring’s key competencies including technology, marketing, e-commerce, and retail,” a company spokesperson said.

Teespring has helped 20 apparel creators make $1 million on its platform, which has shipped more than 12 million products around the world. The company, which originally started in Rhode Island, just announced a licensing partnership with the NFL for custom team t-shirts.

Teespring is just the latest out-of-town tech company to open up an office in Seattle. Giants like Google, Facebook, Dropbox, Salesforce, Uber, Twitter and many others have engineering-focused offices in the region. See our list and map of more than 50 engineering outposts in the Seattle area.
