iPhone6_PF_SpGry_5-Up_iOS8-PRINT-22014 was the biggest year on record for Apple’s App Store, the company announced today. Developers took home more than $10 billion thanks to sales made through Apple’s platform worldwide.

That brings developers’ total haul from the App Store to $25 billion since its launch in July 2008. It’s good news for Apple as well, since the company takes a 30 percent cut from all sales made through its digital storefront. Based on the numbers the company released, it brought in more than $4 billion last year just by providing a marketplace for developers to sell apps and in-app purchases to iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users.

The app bonanza doesn’t show any sign of stopping, either: Apple said that New Year’s Day 2015 brought the most sales the App Store has ever seen in a single day, with customers spending nearly half a billion dollars on apps and in-app purchases.

It’s going to be a big year for Apple: the company is slated to release its new smartwatch, and rumors are already circulating about a new, thinner model of the MacBook Air that may be released later this year.
