Swype allows you to swipe around with just a finger or thumb to quickly scribble out replies, while Fleksy lets you add .GIFs to your missives. But if you want to quickly pump out canned responses or even just your email address, TypeSnippets is the app for you.

The free app lets you create up to three snippets of text, like your phone number, an address, a website or even a frequently used block of text. You can get unlimited snippets with a $2.99 in-app purchase.

While Apple’s built-in shortcuts work just fine for small bits of text, TypeSnippets eliminates the need to remember the shortcut (was my email shortcut j@ or @j?) also gets rid of the single-line restriction. You can just switch to the TypeSnippets keyboard, hit the right button (the icons really make it quick) and you’ve got a chunk of text written out and ready to go.

I use it to send my partner a text that I’m jumping on the bus home or quickly start an email to a PR person. You can even use it to show your indifference with a ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ or a set of emoji.

Making a new snippet is easy too: just copy some text you’re tired of retyping, switch to the TypeSnippets keyboard and there’s an option to create a snippet from the keyboard.

TypeSnippets is a free download for iOS. You’ll have to go into Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards > Add New Keyboard once you download the app to enable TypeSnippets.
