Amazon Apple Watch app doubleShipping just in time for the Apple Watch’s official launch today, Amazon has released its shopping app for the new smartwatch.

From recording a spoken shopping idea to using 1-Click purchasing with a tap, Amazon’s shopping app is — like all new Apple Watch apps — a companion to its iPhone app. Amazon App features on the Apple Watch include:Amazon app_for_watch_hi_rez

  • Searching the Amazon catalog by voice and viewing glanceable product information, including product name, price, shipping information, product images and star ratings.
  • 1-Click purchasing, directly from search.
  • Adding any item to a Wish List.
  • Saving a spoken shopping idea as a note for later.
  • Viewing more information on the iPhone for any item using the Apple Watch’s Handoff feature.

Several of the features, especially 1-Click buying, have been rumored but only now confirmed with the release of the Apple Watch app. Amazon says the new smartwatch app will work on its sites in the U.S., Canada, France, Germany, Japan, China, India, Spain, Italy, and the U.K.

“This is still day-one for wearable devices,” said Amazon Director of Mobile Shopping Paul Cousineau in a statement. “We can’t wait to see how our customers respond.”

Amazon is one of a number of Seattle-area companies releasing Apple Watch apps in anticipation of the device’s April 24 arrival, including Microsoft, Starbucks, Alaska Airlines and Breaking News.
