PrintGeekWire is excited to announce today that Regence BlueShield has been selected as the medical plan for ALLtech, the health insurance trust that provides fast-growing Seattle area tech companies with affordable coverage.

GeekWire and ALLtech allied in February 2014 to provide health care insurance to startup companies in the state, and we’re excited to welcome Regence as our new partner.

Regence is well known in these parts, having provided coverage for 97 years in Washington state. A non-profit organization, Regence insures more than one million members in the state, and it has nearly 35,000 providers in network.

“GeekWire has been integral in supporting the rapid growth of Seattle’s technology community and Regence is thrilled to partner with them to provide an unparalleled customer experience and range of benefit options for their members,” said Don Antonucci, president of Regence BlueShield.

A range of health insurance plans specifically designed for small and growing tech companies will be available to GeekWire members. Regence replaces Moda Health, which announced plans to stop offering service in Washington state earlier this month.

In addition to Regence, other providers in the ALLtech trust include Delta Dental, VSP and The Standard Insurance Company.

“We are excited to be partnering with Regence to provide GeekWire members with a range of medical plans that are specifically designed for smaller tech companies,” said Ken Myer, trustee of ALLtech. “Regence is a respected health benefits provider with deep experience serving our local tech community.”
