Accela, a San Francisco-based company that develops civic engagement technology, today announced the acquisition of Portland-based Springbook Software.

Springbook is a 30-year-old company that provides cloud-based financial software for local government. Accela CEO Maury Blackman said that his company —which recently raised a $143.5 million round — plans to expand Springbook’s presence in Portland by 20 percent this year, where it already employs about 100.

Accela joins a host of other California tech companies with Portland offices, including New Relic, eBay, Salesforce, Airbnb, and others.
