The GeekWire Awards are fast approaching, with tickets on pace to sell out. And, if you didn’t have enough reasons to attend the big bash at EMP on May 8th, here’s another.

We’re excited to announce that Zillow CEO Spencer Rascoff will keynote the event, offering insights and lessons from his own startup voyage. Rascoff is a dynamic and inspiring speaker, and we’re excited to have him join us for this very special event.

He joined Zillow in 2005 when it was a germ of an idea, moving into the CEO post in 2010 shortly before the company’s blockbuster initial public offering. Zillow is now the leader in online real estate, with a market value of $3.7 billion and more than 75 million visitors per month. Prior to Zillow, he co-founded online travel company Hotwire.com, which sold to Expedia in 2003.

We’ve got a ton of fun surprises in store for this year’s awards show, including a new animation created in partnership with our good friends at Killer Infographics.

Now in its sixth year, the GeekWire Awards mark the biggest celebration of startups, innovation and entrepreneurialism in the Pacific Northwest. This year, we’ll recognize winners in 13 categories, from Next Tech Titan to Young Entrepreneur of the Year to Geekiest Office Space. Past winners have included PopCap Games; HasOffers, Haiku Deck, Tableau Software and many others.

Nominations are now closed, and we’ll begin community voting on finalists next week on GeekWire. Stay tuned!

You can join us at the Awards by picking up tickets below. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone on May 8th for this very special event!
