amazonlockerbigA mysterious giant Amazon locker showed up in San Francisco yesterday, and while nobody knew what was in it at the time, it seemed like it was about the right size for a car.

Now, it seems that Nissan has continued its history of partnering with Amazon by using the locker to promote the Nissan Rogue. Overnight, the box got a gigantic Nissan logo decal, along with the hashtag “#GiantLocker.”

This morning, Nissan tweeted, “You canʼt miss the Nissan Rogue when itʼs inside a #GiantLocker.”

This isn’t the first time the companies have worked together to market their products with big boxes. Earlier this year, people who bought Nissan Versa Notes through a joint promotion by the two companies received their cars inside massive Amazon boxes.

Users who tweet using the hashtag will be given a code for the locker, which will allow them to collect prizes from the box, according to a report from Cnet. One lucky person will get the car inside.

As far as marketing stunts go, this one seems to have worked well. When I stopped by the locker in San Francisco last night, it seemed to have a gravitational pull all its own. People were wandering closer to try and figure out why a mysterious orange box appeared in the middle of Justin Hermann Plaza over by the Ferry Building, and today’s promotional event is sure to attract more interest.

Update: In addition to the giant orange box, the Rogue also has a product page on Amazon. While customers can’t buy the car through Amazon, they can follow a link to Nissan’s site and find a local dealership that can sell it to them.
