Microsoft announced today that people who pick up a new Xbox One next week will be eligible to pick up a free full-priced game for their new system. That means people can snag Bungie’s much-anticipated “Destiny” for free with a new console purchase, along with a number of other titles including “Diablo III,” “Watch_Dogs” and “Call of Duty: Ghosts.” The promotion also includes bundles, so it’s possible for interested gaming fans to pick up a console packaged with Madden NFL 15 or Forza Motorsport 5, as well as another free game. The promotion only works through a set of unspecified participating retailers, so interested customers will want to check with their local store before driving over and facing disappointment.

Timing this promotion to coincide with Destiny’s launch seems hardly coincidental. The PlayStation 4 has been beating out the Xbox One in terms of sales since the two consoles launched, and Microsoft is trying every possible marketing tactic it can to pick up new customers.
