INRIX board member Mike Gerling

—INRIX, the Kirkland company that uses data to reduce traffic congestion, has named Mike Gerling to the board. He previously served as the North America chief operating officer of mapping provider Tele Atlas, and before that worked in executive roles at Geographic Data Technology. “Mike’s deep experience in location technologies like digital mapping is invaluable to INRIX as customers use our traffic information and drivers services to power apps and services on any map and any device,” said INRIX CEO Bryan Mistele in a statement.

—Y Combinator’s Paul Graham is handing over day-to-day duties for the popular tech news aggregator Hacker News to Kevin Hale, Kat Manalac, Daniel Gackle and Garry Tan. “I’ll still be around as a user, but less frequently than when I felt I had to check the site every hour or so to make sure nothing had broken,” writes Graham in a blog post announcing the changes.

—Juno Therapeutics, the heavily-funded Seattle biotechnology company working on treatments for cancer, has named Steve Harr to the position of Chief Financial Officer and Head of Corporate Development. Harr currently works in investment banking, overseeing the biotechnology practice at Morgan Stanley, where he’s worked for the past 12 years. “We are delighted to have Steve join the team,” said Hans Bishop, CEO of Juno Therapeutics. “Steve joins Juno after its successful public launch and unprecedented Series A. We are thrilled to have his unmatched insights into the biotechnology industry and corporate finance and as we continue to grow and develop.” Juno has raised more than $145 million in the past few months, including cash from Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos, Venrock, Arch Venture Partners and the Alaska Permanent Fund. It is a spin out of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Seattle Children’s Research Institute.

—Hulu continues to overhaul its management team under the direction of CEO Mike Hopkins, with the distributor of online video content announcing today that Craig Erwich has joined as senior vice president in charge of content. Erwich is a former executive at Warner Horizon Television, responsible for helping to launch shows such as “Pretty Little Liars,” “The Voice,” “The Bachelorette,” and “House.” Before Warner Horizon, he worked for Fox Broadcasting Company for 12 years. “Craig is the perfect guy for the job – he has been developing shows and programming networks for over 20 years. He has impressed me and others who’ve met him with his collaborative approach, humility and tenacity to do what he believes,” said Hopkins.
