Cyanogen, which is looking to disrupt the mobile operating system market, has named former Amazon and Hulu employee Dave Herman as VP of product; former HTC engineering director Tyler Carper as VP of engineering; and former MediaTrek marketing executive Vik Natarajan as VP of global partnerships and distribution.

Founded in 2013 in Seattle by Steve Kondik, Cyanogen is building an open sourced mobile operating system. The company landed $22 million in funding from Andreessen Horowitz, Benchmark and others late last year.

“As we go from 1.2B Android smartphones today to over 5B in the next 5 years the thought of innovation slowing and mobile reaching its zenith is far from a reality. In fact, in five years AOSP will be larger than the entire global smartphone market of 1.8 billion users today,” the company wrote in a blog post announcing the new hires.

—Blucora announced that Bernard Luthi — the former chief operating officer and chief marketing officer at Buy.com — has been tapped as president of e-commerce subsidiary Monoprice. He replaced Ajay Kumar, who resigned Juned 24.

“Bernard brings deep expertise in consumer electronics and online retailing and is uniquely positioned to lead Monoprice in the next phase of expansion,” said Blucora CEO Bill Ruckelshaus in a press release.

Bellevue-based Blucora purchased Monoprice last summer for $180 million, adding the retailer of cables, switches and other electronics gear to its portfolio. Prior to Buy.com, Luthi worked for NewEgg.

—Seattle-based PayScale has promoted Dave Smith — —  to the role of chief product officer. He joined the Seattle company in 2009 from CareerBuilder.

—Wimmer Solutions named Jeff Bamman as chief financial officer, adding more horsepower to the fast-growing staffing and consulting company. Bamman previously served as a partner in the firm of Kelly, Bamman & Partners, LLC, and before that led global support services at F5 Networks.

“We are excited to welcome Jeff Bamman to this new role at Wimmer. He is a key figure in guiding our growth strategy and bringing an important financial perspective to day-to-day operations as we strive to attain a world-class level of operational excellence,” said Matt Sauri, founder and CEO of Wimmer Solutions.

The 13-year-old company now employs 350 people, including a new facility in Reno. The CFO role is a new one for the company.

—eBay CEO John Donahoe has joined the board of footwear and apparel giant Nike. “John’s executive management experience in digital commerce, technology, strategic planning, and marketing for a global brand makes him an excellent addition to our board,” said Nike co-founder Philip H. Knight in a release. “We look forward to his contributions to expand NIKE’s position as the world’s leading athletic brand and industry innovator.” Donahoe has worked at eBay since 2005.

—Former RealNetworks president and CFO Bob Kimball, who completed a short stint at Bellevue-based Apptio last year, has landed at Amazon.com as general counsel of the company’s Amazon Web Services unit.

—Little Bird, the Portland startup led by former tech journalist Marshall Kirkpatrick, has named former Jama and Jive veteran Jessica Rickson to lead its enterprise sales efforts. The social media search startup raised $1.7 million earlier this year.

—Seattle-based Indix continues to grow its team, hiring Heather Redman as VP of business operations and general counsel and Sheen Khoury as chief customer officer. Redman will be based in Seattle, while Khoury will work from San Francisco, where the startup recently opened a new sales office. Redman is the former general counsel at Getty Images and former COO at Atom Entertainment. Khoury previously worked at Vyatta.

—Former Urban Airship chief revenue officer Christopher Dean has joined mobile testing company Swrve as CEO, reports Re/code. Prior joining Portland-based Urban Airship, Dean worked at Skype.
