The upcoming Steve Jobs biopic has a new star and a new studio.
After Sony Pictures dropped the movie last week following two years of development, Hollywood Reporter reports that Universal Pictures will pick up the project and Inglourious Basterds star Michael Fassbender will now play Jobs — not Christian Bale, as previously reported.
Danny Boyle will direct the film, while Aaron Sorkin — the screenwriter for “The Social Network” — will write the script. Seth Rogen reportedly may play Steve Wozniak.
The biopic is based on Walter Isaacson’s 2011 biography about Jobs and follows last year’s mediocre movie about the Apple icon that starred Ashton Kutcher.
