Microsoft, Google, Facebook and Twitter all have released data about the diversity of their workforces in recent months.

But there’s been one big hold out: Amazon.com.

Now, Rev. Jesse Jackson is calling on Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos to disclose the gender and racial makeup of its workforce.

“By Monday, we want justice and equality to go viral,” Jackson told USA Today, noting that his Rainbow Push Coalition plans to respond with an action against Amazon.com if it doesn’t comply.

Amazon.com typically tends to ignore these types of requests, attempting to operate under the radar and letting disputes blow over. It also has refused to release exact numbers of workers that it has in the Seattle area.

Last month, Microsoft revealed that its workforce is 72 percent male, and 28 percent female. That was more diverse from a gender standpoint than the prior year. Google recently revealed that its workforce is 70 percent male. Just two percent of its workforce is black, while three percent is hispanic.

facebooknumbers333Facebook also recently released diversity stats, showing that its workforce is 69 percent male; 34 percent Asian; three percent hispanic; and two percent black.

“As these numbers show, we have more work to do – a lot more. But the good news is that we’ve begun to make progress,” Facebook said when releasing its numbers in July. “Diversity is something that we’re treating as everyone’s responsibility at Facebook, and the challenge of finding qualified but underrepresented candidates is one that we’re addressing as part of a strategic effort across Facebook.”
