xboxone2121Microsoft announced this evening that a new app called ReddX will debut on Tuesday morning, giving Xbox One owners a way to scan Reddit threads on their TVs.

ReddX lets Xbox Live members in North America read text on Reddit, post links, up/down vote content, in addition to viewing images, videos, and GIFs. The app can also enter “Snap Mode” so you can monitor Reddit while gaming or watching video. Those with a Kinect can control ReddX using voice commands — yep, you can now vote on Reddit links by talking to your TV.

Xbox’s Major Nelson just used the app to post a new Reddit thread from his Xbox One:

One Reddit user noted a few benefits of ReddX on the Xbox One:

This is fantastic. I would’ve loved to have reddit snapped while watching this years World Cup or even E3 and other game conferences. I’m also the type that watches new shows and browses the discussion thread live. I see many useful applications for this app. Thanks guys.

Microsoft is also launching an MTV app in the U.S. on Tuesday, complete with video clips, full episodes, and news stories. The Xbox One Twitch app is also getting an overhaul, with a new auto-zoom feature and a “watch with friends” option.
