“Microsoft Mobile” — that’s a name you might hear more often once Microsoft’s $7.2 billion deal to acquire Nokia’s Devices and Services business officially closes on Friday.

In a letter obtained by NokiaPowerUser that was reportedly sent from Nokia to its suppliers, Microsoft will change the “Nokia” name to “Microsoft Mobile,” at least for behind-the-scenes legal documentation, and possibly for more. Here’s the exact wording from the letter:

Please note that upon the close of the transaction between Microsoft and Nokia, the name of Nokia Corporation/Nokia Oyj will change to Microsoft Mobile Oy. Microsoft Mobile Oy is the legal entity name that should be used for VAT IDs and for the issuance of invoices.

The letter also notes that all existing agreements with Nokia’s partners and suppliers will remain in place after the deal, which was announced in September of last year, closes Friday.

While Microsoft will take control of Nokia’s Devices and Services business, Nokia as a company will still live on, in part through its patent portfolio, which is not included in Microsoft’s acquisition — though Microsoft will be getting a license to the entire portfolio.

The acquisition was supposed to close in March, but regulatory delays pushed the deal into April. The delays haven’t stopped Nokia from releasing new phones: former Nokia CEO Stephen Elop took the stage at Microsoft’s Build developer conference last month to announce a trio of new models that will launch this year.

Post updated at 4:40 p.m. to clarify nature of name change.
