surfaceMicrosoft may be refreshing it Surface Pro tablet line next week.

Twitter user NotCassim spotted a now-removed Microsoft support page which references a Windows 8.1 update for the Surface Pro 3.

number of reports in recent weeks have suggested that Microsoft will be unveiling an Intel-based Surface. The Surface Pro line is designed to offer the power of a laptop in a tablet form factor.

Those reports line up with Microsoft’s announcement earlier this month that it plans to hold a “small gathering” in New York for members of the press. There have been some signs that point to the company unveiling a smaller version of its Surface tablet at this event, as well.

Interestingly, it doesn’t look like Microsoft has plans to refresh the Surface 2 alongside other tablet announcements. Still, next week’s announcements could be key for setting up Microsoft’s tablet lineup ahead of the back-to-school shopping season. New Surface models would be one way to try and lure budget- and form factor-conscious students to Windows, rather than letting them fall into Apple’s grasp.

A Microsoft spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment on this report.
