amazonappsAs a part of the Amazon’s Free App a Day program, there are a whole host of music apps for Android devices available for free on its AppStore today. Put together, the apps would ordinarily cost music buffs $40.

The sale includes a variety of apps, including WavePad Master’s Edition, an app designed to turn an Android device into a multi-track recorder, and iReal Pro, an app that’s designed to act as a backing band for popular songs as well as a place for musicians to collect chord charts for their favorite songs. For people who are more interested in listening to music than playing it, the deals also include TuneIn Radio Pro and jetAudio Music Player Plus.

This is one in a long line of sales from the Seattle-based company, which is trying as hard as it can to attract more and more users to its Android storefront, and draw them away from the Google Play Store. There have been plenty of rumors that Amazon plans to launch its own smartphone later this year, and the company may even launch its own “Prime Data” plan along with it.

Users who download apps from Amazon’s AppStore would have an easier time transitioning over to the company’s phone, which probably won’t have Google’s Play Store installed, much like Amazon’s Kindle tablets.
