Remaking_the_LegendHeads up, Halo fans: There’s a new documentary out today that you’ll definitely want to watch.

Remaking the Legend —Halo 2: Anniversary offers an inside look at how Bellevue-based 343 Industries re-created the epic Halo 2 game that debuted a decade ago. The full-length documentary includes interviews with 343 execs Bonnie Ross and Frank O’Connor, as well as insight from members of the original Halo 2 team like writer Joseph Staten and composer Marty O’Donnell.

Remaking the Legend – Halo 2: Anniversary is a full-length documentary chronicling 343 Industries’ journey as they re-imagine Halo 2, one of the most beloved video games of all time, for its ten-year anniversary. Get unprecedented access throughout the development process as 343 Industries and their team of partners from all over the world bring Halo 2 into the next generation, while attempting to maintain and honor its fabled past. Through exclusive interviews with developers, former Halo employees, pro players, industry insiders, and hard-core Halo fans, get a behind-the-scenes look at the next chapter in the Halo franchise that celebrates its past while laying the groundwork for its future.

The redone Halo 2 is part of the Halo: The Master Chief Collection for the Xbox One, a massive compilation of Halo games for the Xbox One that includes Halos 1-4, in addition to multiplayer modes. The $59.99 game is slated for release on Nov. 11 and puts Halo 1, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4 all on one disc, with more than 100 original multiplayer maps running in high-def 1080p video at 60 frames per second on dedicated servers.

Those with an Xbox 360 or Xbox One can watch the documentary on the Xbox Video app for free. You can also watch via the Xbox Video web player here.

The documentary will also stream at www.twitch.tv/xbox during the following times:

  • Friday, October 31 – 11 a.m. PT
  • Saturday, November 1 – 6 p.m. PT
  • Sunday, November 2 – 6 p.m. PT

Finally, you’ll be able to watch the film at Halowaypoint or on YouTube starting Nov. 3.
