Joining us via phone is Angela Santomero, the television producer and writer known for shows including Blue’s Clues, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, and Super Why. Her new show, Creative Galaxy, premieres this week on Amazon Prime Video.

Creative Galaxy, which helps introduce kids to the power of art, features the voices of actors including Jason Jones, Samantha Bee and Jason Priestley (pictured above with Santomero at the Creative Galaxy premiere.) It’s the second original children’s show from Amazon, following the earlier debut of Tumble Leaf.

Santomero explains how Amazon’s approach meshes with her own focus on research-driven television programming, and how the emergence of apps and interactive television are changing the world of content creation. She also provides guidance to parents on managing screen time for kids, and shares her memories of Fred Rogers, one of the biggest influences on her life and career.
