With the E3 video game convention in the books for another year, this week’s GeekWire radio show features a conversation with game writer and number-cruncher Tim Ellis about the state of Nintendo, the resurgence of Sony’s PlayStation franchise, and Microsoft’s strategy shift with the Xbox One, attempting to recapture its momentum.
In a recent post on GeekWire, Ellis made the case that the runaway success of the Nintendo Wii was actually an anomaly for the company, which has otherwise seen a steady decline in unit sales of its home consoles (not including handhelds) since the days of the NES.
The company announced a series of popular titles for the Wii U at E3, but many of the new games won’t be arriving until next year.
