Although 3D printing has been under development for decades, it has moved to the forefront of the technology debate in more recent years. The public marveled at the unnerving implications of the world’s first 3D printed gun, NASA quickly adopted the technology, and earlier this month even Amazon got in on the game.

It’s fitting, then, that Seattle would host the 3D Printer World Expo, a two day event bringing together the widest range of 3D printers and professionals ever assembled. The Expo, which runs from August 22 to 23, will feature exhibits, educational seminars, giveaways, and live demos. All 3D Printer World Expo events will be held at the Hyatt Regency in Bellevue. Small Biz Tech Trends Meetup

Marketeering Group, a digital marketing company, is hosting Small Biz Tech Trends meetup on Monday. Seattle’s Small business owners are invited to stop by to network and learn about trends and changes in the tech world. Speakers will include Big Door CEO Keith Smith, as well as representatives from CoEverywhere.com and GoBig.co. The Marketeering Group will provide wine, beer, and snacks. Unity 2014

Unity, the popular cross-platform game creation system behind Temple Run and Bad Piggies, is hosting a three day gathering of game developers, enthusiasts, publishers, and training providers.

109seattleThe event will begin with a crash course “Training Day” to provide inexperienced users with an introduction to Unity development. After tutorials attendees will build small projects as a learning exercise. Festivities begin on Wednesday the 20th with panels on everything from building content in the cloud to editor scripting. Next week Happy Young Professionals is collaborating with several other local organizations for the 5th annual ALL YPN networking event.
