HIMSS NW Technology and Education Conferencebanner

The recent Ebola crisis has sparked a dialogue in the U.S. and abroad on healthcare best practices. The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS)’s fourth annual symposium comes at a timely and critical moment as the global community turns its attention toward infectious disease treatment and prevention.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Integration & Collaboration — Our Imperative.”  Medical professionals from around the country will gather to discuss healthcare reform in the private, public, provider, payer, and patient communities. Tickets are available for $60 – $175 here.

Monthly New Tech Seattle (formerly Seattle Tech Meetup) is expanding to Kirkland with this new sister event. Kirkland Mayor Whalen and reps from Tagboard, Inrix, AppSheet, and PurpleWall will be presenting. Like New Tech Seattle, this meetup will begin with drinks, snacks, and networking and end with an after-party at Wilde Rover. Register here.

Cannabis Tech MeetupLogo_MED

Since marijuana was legalized in Washington, several pot-related institutions have popped up in the Puget Sound Area. We’ve featured Leafly (think Yelp for cannabis) and Magical Butter Studios, a pot-infused edible company in our coverage already. The latter is hosting another product of legalization — the Cannabis Tech Meetup. This month’s installment will feature East Side Games for their new Pot Farm game.  The evening will include food, drinks, and networking in addition to the presentations. Register for $10 here.

Celebrate the launch of the Indie Game Revolution exhibit at EMP at this kick-off party. EMP and the indie video game collective Wild Rumpus have joined forces to create an event that’s “part indie arcade, part sound and visual extravaganza.” The evening will include a competition in a Nidhogg e-sports tournament, talks from DigiPen developers, food truck refreshments and a beer garden.
