GW calendar logoTeams from around the world descended on the Seattle region this week for the finals of Microsoft’s Imagine Cup student technology competition, leading up to the announcement of the winning team this morning.

This weekend, on Saturday, Aug. 2, the public will have chance to see their projects first-hand. Microsoft is hosting Imagine Cup Day, a showcase of the finalists in the world’s premier student technology competition, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Museum of History and Industry in Seattle.

MOHAI will open its doors to the public for free so guests can check out projects made by students from around the world. Attendees can vote for their favorite project and the winners will receive a $2,000 cash prize.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to take a spin in a Lotus F1 Simulator and watch musical and dance performances. MOHAI will have “mad science activities” for kids and free snacks.

That’s just one of our selections from the GeekWire Calendar — our curated list of the top tech events in the Pacific Northwest.
