We’re looking forward to seeing you this Thursday, March 20, for the GeekWire Anniversary Bash & Ping Pong Tourney! We’ve got a sold-out crowd of more than 800 coming out for the festivities, so make sure to get there early for the fun!
Here are the key details to know in advance.
GeekWire BashTime and location: The event will take place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 20 at the Showbox SODO, at 1700 1st Ave. S. in Seattle, just south of Safeco Field. Here’s the map.
Parking: Although there is no validated parking for this venue, there are various parking lots and street parking (if you are lucky) surrounding the Showbox SODO. We recommend the Safeco Field parking lot as it has 2,000 spaces. It is just south of the ballpark, entrance is off of Edgar Martinez Drive. Come prepared with your cash/credit card for this prepaid lot.
Players: Doors will open early, at 3:30 p.m., for registered ping-pong and foosball players, with check-in required by 4 p.m. The tournaments begin at 4:15 p.m. More details and brackets for the foosball and ping pong tourneys here and here.
Activities: From the Skanska conversation lounge to the DoubleDown hidden ping-pong ball hunt to the Moz photo booth to the Barokas beer pong station, we’ll have a wide variety of activities throughout the afternoon and evening for all attendees, with lots of great prizes.
Food and Drink: Yes and yes. A great selection of food is included with admission, along with drink tickets.

March Madness Games: Yep, we’ll have the NCAA basketball games playing in the back bar area for all of those who need to keep up-to-date on your brackets.
Ticket receipts: No need to bring your ticket receipt to the event. Since you are pre-registered we will have your name badge on file.
Can you buy more tickets for friends/colleagues? No, unfortunately, we’re sold out. Be sure to get your tickets early for our next event, the GeekWire Awards on May 8, which will also sell out. Also, consider a GeekWire membership, which at the Golden, Super and Galactic Geek levels ensures access to all of our events, plus other great perks.
What to wear: Casual clothing is best, but don’t forget the Spirit Prize. We’ll be giving away a great prize to the folks who fly their geek flags most proudly, supporting their teammates in the tourney, promoting their companies, or just having some cosplay fun. Unicorn costumes encouraged.
