Chef Thad Lyman came to my house in July and cooked an awesome meal.

If you’re trying to impress your friends this Friday evening, then Uber and Kitchensurfing have something worth checking out.

Starting at 6 p.m. on Friday in Seattle, Boston, Chicago, and D.C., Uber is partnering with Kitchensurfing to deliver professional chefs to your kitchen and cook a four-course holiday-inspired meal. It’s called “UberCHEF” — Uber did something similar with Kitchensurfing in August, but only for people living in the Hamptons.

My Kitchensurfing experience included a tasty slab of salmon.

Kitchensurfing, which we tested out in July when it launched in Seattle, is a New York-based startup that matches professional chefs with people wanting to enjoy a meal cooked by an expert inside their own kitchen.

On Friday, you’ll be able to use the Uber app and book a Kitchensurfing chef on-demand. Total cost is $50 per person — 4-to-8 people can participate — which includes ingredients, labor, and travel expenses. Your meals will be prepared in 60 minutes or less.

The partnership is part of Uber’s pledge to provide 3 million meals in four days to children in need for No Kid Hungry. All proceeds from each Kitchensurfing meal will go to No Kid Hungry. Uber is also doing something called UberLUNCH as part of the campaign and will deliver lunch in 10 minutes or less to hungry customers in 10 cities on Thursday.
