Facebook’s popularity among the 13- to 17-year-old set dropped once again this year, according to a new report by Frank N. Magid Associates Inc. out yesterday.

Users, or “people,” in that demographic dropped to 88 percent, from 94 percent in 2013.

The kids are all right, at least social-media wise. They’re migrating to new apps like Snapchat and WhatsApp, and both Twitter and Instagram reported more engagement with teens.

“Facebook stopped discussing teen usage on its earnings calls after last year’s disclosure alarmed investors. While the issue was all but forgotten as the company’s advertising revenue reached new highs, it’s a bigger concern now, according to Tero Kuittinen, a managing director at Magid in New York,” reports Bloomberg BusinessWeek.

What’s the problem? Teens cite the reason that they don’t find Facebook as trustworthy or fun as some of the other social sites and apps.
