aerdataFor the second time in less than a week, Boeing has bought another tech company.

The aviation giant today announced the acquisition of AerData, a Netherlands-based airplane software maker.

AerData’s products include engine management systems, repair maps, and lease management software. The 120-person company also provides both software and technical support services to airlines and other aviation companies.

AerData will remain in Europe and become part of Boeing’s Digital Aviation team, with its services to be included in the Boeing Edge suite. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“AerData’s tools make it easier for airlines and leasing companies to manage complex maintenance records,” Stan Deal, Boeing’s senior vice president of Commercial Aviation Services, said in a statement. “Increasing the efficiency of records management helps streamline the process of placing airplanes and other valuable assets with operators during leasing transactions.”

This past Friday, Boeing announced that it had acquired British tech firm ETS Aviation, which specializes in fuel efficiency and management software. Just like AerData’s products, ETS Aviation’s services will also be part of Boeing Edge.
