You may have first known her as Jesse Pinkman’s girlfriend on Breaking Bad, or been one of the few to watch the absurdly funny sitcom Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 (seriously, who would’ve thunk James Van Der Beek could be so hilarious?). Both roles were fleeting, but Krysten Ritter was always just awesome, and you couldn’t help but hope she would find her perfect show.

It looks like she may have gotten it in the Netflix series Jessica Jones.

According to A/V Club: “Deadline reports that Ritter is the studio’s choice for the upcoming drama…Neither Netflix nor Marvel has commented officially on either of those decisions, but the prospects certainly look good for Ritter landing a role in a series that’s already been guaranteed 13 episodes.”

Jessica Jones is just one of four live-action series Netflix is partnering with Marvel to produce, the others being Daredevil, Iron Fist and Luke Cage, set to start airing in 2015. Jessica Jones is based on the character whose powers bring her trouble, so she hangs it up and opens a detective agency to help other superheroes. It’s just the type of smart, perfectly conflicted role Ritter excels at. We can’t wait.
