Spotify, the popular streaming music service, was released this morning for Windows Phone 8, adding an important music app to Microsoft’s mobile lineup. Spotify was previously available for Windows Phone 7 but hadn’t been issued for Windows Phone 8.

The download is free but the mobile version of the service requires a Spotify Premium account, which costs $9.99 but is available as a 30-day trial.

Spotify for Windows Phone 8 is available for download here.

So where’s Pandora? Microsoft announced in October that Pandora would be released in early 2013, with a year’s worth of ad-free music, courtesy of Microsoft, but that music radio app hasn’t yet made its way to the Windows Phone store.

So glad Spotify is finally here! Do people still actually use Pandora?

  • grr…..

Yes, Look at me, I think i am cool… people actually still…………..

Spotify is FAR better than Pandora anyway! I hate when I input a particular song or artist on Pandora and it almost never plays the artist or song that I initially input. Spotify does that. Pandora is useless.
