INRIX Drive Time SearchWhen looking for a new home, one of the key questions is: “how long will it take me to get to work today?” Seattle’s largest brokerage wants to make finding that answer easy.

Earlier this year, Windermere, through a partnership with Inrix, started providing information to users about average commute times to and from their workplaces for a given property. According to Windermere, that feature has been used more than 50,000 times since its launch in March. Now, they’ve taken things one step further and built “Search by Drive Time” a feature that allows users to find a house based on how far away it is from their job.

If you’re looking to buy a house in one of the states Windermere covers, you can punch in your address at work, specify the amount of time you’re willing to spend driving to work every day, what time you’d like to get to work and add in any other specifications you’re looking for in a new home, and Windermere will shoot back a set of possible places for you to live that meet those criteria. It’ll also overlay a shaded area on the map of places around your office that would be within your stated driving time criteria.

To give it a shot, visit Windermere’s web site, and punch in your work address.
