Geek Madness isn’t the only intense competition going down this weekend.
With a $1 million on the line, 32 teams from around the world will battle for the Call of Duty Championship that’s presented by Xbox.
The competition is being carried live all weekend while Sunday’s finals will be broadcast on Xbox Live. The tournament is put on by eSports, an organization that hosts professional competitive gaming events. It’s kind of funny watching the commentators discuss the COD matches as if it’s the Super Bowl.
eSports was a relatively small scene for a while, but the popularity of competitive gaming is certainly on the rise.
