We’re extremely excited to announce today that Silicon Valley venture capitalist Bill Gurley will be joining us as a keynote speaker for the GeekWire Summit, taking place at the Sheraton Seattle on September 12th. A partner at Benchmark and an early investor in companies such as Uber, OpenTable and Twitter, Gurley is a straight-talking Texan and Silicon Valley powerhouse who has been described as one of “technology’s top deal makers.”
He was also one of the first VC bloggers, sharing insights about the industry in his popular “Above the Crowd” blog. He’s routinely listed in Forbes’ annual Midas List of the top venture capitalists.
We’re pairing Gurley with Zillow co-founder Rich Barton, and we’re expecting plenty of zingers and insights from these two highly-quotable tech leaders. Gurley was an early investor in Zillow, so we’re hoping to hear some of the early stories of how that deal came together as well as learn where they think the tech industry is headed next.
