It looks like the Steam Box is coming and will run on Linux.

German IT site Golem is reporting that Valve engineer Ben Krasnow spoke at a EHSM conference a few weeks ago and confirmed that Valve’s “Steam Box,” a PC designed to connect to your TV and take advantage of the Steam’s Big Picture mode, will debut this year. He said it will run on Linux, which does not come as a surprise given the Steam’s recent beta for the OS.

Co-founder Gabe Newell has been saying for quite a while now that he wanted to get Big Picture on Steam Linux , and it’s no secret that Newell is not a big fan of Windows 8.
