If you’re a T-Mobile customer and have been licking your chops since the carrier announced it would be getting the iPhone, today is a good day.
You’re now able to pre-order the iPhone 5 in either black or white and at 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of storage space. It comes with T-Mobile’s unique new payment plan: $99.99 down and $20/month for two years (or a total of $580).
Orders will begin shipping April 11. T-Mobile’s base rate for the iPhone 5 will be $50/month for 500MB of data, with 2GB running $60/month, or unlimited data for $70/month.
In other related news, Reuters reports that T-Mobile’s parent company, Deutsche Telekom, is weighing new deal terms in its bid for MetroPCS. The T-Mobile bid, which is going to a shareholder vote next week, has been scrutinized in recent weeks by shareholder advisory services and large stakeholders of MetroPCS as not valuing the company properly.
Last week, T-Mobile unveiled a bold plan to shake up the wireless industry. Calling it an “un-carrier” move, T-Mobile announced a plan to get rid of annual contracts and simplify how customers pay for service.
