startrek2That headline is Klingon for “Microsoft Bing launches Klingon language translator.”

We know this because we’ve been having fun — perhaps a little too much fun — with the Redmond company’s latest creation, an homage to Star Trek that launched today as a new feature of the Microsoft Bing Translator.

The Klingon feature was developed in partnership with the Klingon Language Institute as a promotion for Paramount Pictures’ upcoming film, Star Trek Into Darkness. Bing says in a blog post that the tool is “just in time for your next dinner party or interplanetary skirmish.” It also can translate web pages into Klingon.

The company has also added Star Trek trivia to the Bing Snapshot feature, which answers questions via the Bing search box. Examples include questions such as, “Who said live long and prosper?”

The Bing Translator is available here and on Windows Phone 8. As our Klingon friends would say, “yItIv.”
