gwradiomeetup

Each week, Todd Bishop and I get together to talk about all things geek — revisiting the top news stories, profiling our favorite apps and sharing opinions on the ever-changing  tech industry.

Typically, this discussion takes place in the cozy studios of our radio partner: KIRO FM. But next week, we’re trying something entirely new, and here’s your chance to be a part of it.

For the first time ever, we’re conducting a live performance of the GeekWire Radio Show. (Yes, it’s a little scary).

If you’ve ever wanted to get a behind-the-scenes look at the show or just want to hear Todd’s experiences as a Windows Phone user, this is your chance.

We’ve got a lot of fun activities in store for the performance next week, taking place at 6 p.m. at the HUB Seattle in Pioneer Square. Audience participation will be a must.

Our Name that Tech Tune segment — in which we try to stump audience members with a sound or song from the tech world — will feature Nintendo mix master The Icarus Kid. Our App of the Week segment will feature Yabbly co-founder Tom Leung, explaining how he’s trying to help people find great products.

We’re also excited to announce that wireless veteran Mike McSherry, the former CEO of Swype and current vice president of advertising and content at Nuance Communications, will be joining us on stage to talk about all things mobile.

McSherry is one of our favorite interview subjects, and I am sure he’ll have plenty to say about the changing winds in the mobile industry.

Early-bird ticket prices for the show end tomorrow, so make sure to sign up today.

Thanks to our meetup sponsors Outlook.com, Postmates and to our partners at KIRO Radio for their support. Looking forward to seeing everyone next week!
