—Zillow has promoted Kathleen Philips to the position of chief operating officer, a new position at the online real estate company. She had previously served as general counsel at the company, which she joined in 2010. Philips played a key role in the company’s July 2011 initial public offering as well as its recent M&A activities.
“I’m thrilled to name Kathleen Philips as Zillow’s COO,” said Zillow CEO Spencer Rascoff. “Kathleen is an incredibly valuable member of our executive team, and this title much better describes the breadth of responsibilities she has successfully taken on over the last couple of years.”
Philips also runs the company’s San Francisco offices, which have grown to 65 employees. She previously served as general counsel at FanSnap, a venture-backed ticket search engine, and HotWire.com, an online travel company where Rascoff previously worked.
