Steve Coast

–Steve Coast, one of the founders of OpenStreetMap, has left his position on the Bing Mobile team at Microsoft to work at Telenav.

In a post to his blog announcing the move, Coast praised Telenav’s engagement with OSM, and conspicuously left out any reference to his time at Microsoft, which has been moving away from using OpenStreetMap tech. In addition, Coast’s move comes as Microsoft just picked up a mobile mapping solution in Nokia’s HERE maps, which don’t use OSM data at all.

Christian Oestlien

–Christian Oestlien, formerly an advertising executive at Google, is joining Twitter as the social networking company’s Senior Director of Growth and International, according to a report by AllThingsD.

His position improving the company’s international business is an important one, especially considering Twitter has been without an official head of international growth since Othman Laraki left the company last year. In addition, Twitter is rumored to be mulling its options for an IPO, and Oestlien’s leadership may help boost profitability overseas.

uber–Uber, coming off a major fundraising round, has hired three new executives, including former Klout COO Emil Michael. According to an announcement on the Uber blog, Michael will be joining the company as its SVP of Business. Brett Callinicos, who most recently served as Google’s Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Accountant, will be joining Uber next week as its CFO. Ed Baker, formerly Facebook’s Head of International Growth, rounds out the trio and will be Uber’s new Head of Growth.
