There’s some serious talent coming out of Redmond’s DigiPen Institute of Technology and recent nominations for the Independent Games Festival confirms that fact.

Two student-made games were selected as finalists for the 15th annual Independent Games Festival and will go head-to-head with real-world gaming companies.

Perspectivean experimental first person puzzle game that allows players to manage different dimensions of control, is a finalist in the Technical Excellence category. Development started as a junior year game project in May of 2011, and the group of eight students worked around demanding school courses, full-time jobs and other obligations to complete the game.

Super Space, an arcade-style multiplayer shooter that blends competition and cooperation, is a finalist for the Excellence in Design category. Three students of DigiPen’s game design degree programs worked on the game.

The Independent Games Festival showcases the game industry’s most-talented independent developers from around the world. The DigiPen games will compete against four professionally-developed games in each category. Winners will be announced March 27.
