The landmark biography of Steve Jobs is getting a younger look — but keeping the same pose — for its paperback debut.
Simon & Schuster announced today that Walter Isaacson’s best-selling biography of Jobs will be released in paperback this fall, nearly two years after the book’s original hardcover publication, complete with a new cover featuring a far younger Jobs in a very familiar pose.
The new picture of Jobs was shot by Norman Seeff in 1984, the year Apple launched the first Macintosh and launched its famed “1984” ad. That image will replace Albert Watson’s iconic 2006 photo of Jobs, which has been the cover of the hardcover edition of the book.
The paperback version of the book will also contain a new afterword, the publisher said, without releasing details about the content.
Unfortunately, if you’re looking to add Jobs’s bio to your summer reading list, hardcover will be your only option. The paperback edition will hit stores on September 10.
