Spiral Genetics, a Seattle startup that makes high-performance software for analyzing DNA, just closed a Series A financing for $3 million and also announced a new partnership with Omicia.
The funding, led by VC firm DFJ, will help the company build out its bioinformatics engineering team and accelerate product development. The cloud-based software Spiral Genetics provides to customers across various industries helps researchers substantially speed up DNA analysis and eventually better diagnosis and treat diseases like cancer or autism.
Sprial Genetics is also partnering with San Francisco-based Omicia, a company that develops informatics systems to interpret human genome sequences.
